Stop Rebuilding Your Trade Show Presence for Every Event
One event needs a 10×10 booth. The next needs a 10×20. Your biggest annual show may require monitors, additional storage, demonstration areas, and meeting space.
That doesn’t mean you need to start over every time.
Instead of treating each trade show as a completely separate project, build your exhibit program around reusable components that can adapt as your needs change.
Different Shows Have Different Needs
Not every event deserves the same exhibit.
A smaller regional show may be focused on efficient conversations with customers, while a major national event may call for a stronger visual presence, product demonstrations, monitors and dedicated meeting space.
The answer is not necessarily buying a different booth for every event.
The goal is to create a family of components that can be rearranged, expanded or simplified depending on the show.
Start With a Dependable Core
Build around the pieces you will use most often:
- Branded backwalls
- Modular display sections
- Portable counters
- Monitor stands
- Storage components
- Product demonstration stations
- Interchangeable fabric graphics
Start with the booth size you use most frequently and add components that allow it to grow.
The more ways a component can be used, the more value it can provide.

Change the Message, Not the Entire Display
Your hardware may last much longer than your marketing message.
New products, campaigns, services and branding can make graphics outdated even when the exhibit itself is still in excellent condition.
Interchangeable graphics allow you to update the message without replacing the entire display.
Consider having:
- A core brand graphic for most events
- Product-specific graphics
- Industry-specific messaging
- Campaign or seasonal graphics
Make Every Accessory Earn Its Place
Every accessory should have a purpose.
A monitor should support a demonstration or communicate something graphics can’t. A counter should provide a useful work surface, storage or conversation area.
Choosing accessories with a clear function also makes them easier to reuse at different events.
Don’t Forget What Happens Between Shows
A flexible exhibit also needs to be easy to transport, store, organize and set up.
Before adding another component, consider how it will ship, how many cases are needed and whether setup is realistic for the staff attending the event.
Own the Core. Rent the Exceptions.
A flexible exhibit program doesn’t mean you have to own everything.
Rentals can fill the gaps when a particular event requires a larger footprint or additional components you won’t regularly use.
Your owned display handles the core schedule. Rentals handle the exceptions.
Build an Exhibit Program, Not a Collection of Booths
A better approach starts with your overall event schedule, identifies what you will use repeatedly and builds a coordinated group of exhibit assets around those needs.
The result isn’t simply a booth that changes sizes.
It’s a trade show program that’s easier to update, transport, organize and use.
Indy Displays offers portable, modular, backlit and turnkey rental solutions for different booth sizes and event goals.
